why Roel?

Losing yourself in music is one of the most beautiful things you can experience. Especially when you are responsible for doing so. Therefore, my task is to continue to challenge and inspire you to do this.

From the very first contact with the guitar, I was sold. I started searching for a guitar teacher and played along with my heroes, like John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, John Frusciante and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Since the beginning they together with my teacher motivated me to get the most out of the instrument without losing the fun.

Shortly afterwards, I also started to see the pleasure of playing together after performing with different bands, which made me realise about the importance of motivation. The enthusiasm that I felt is also something I like to give during the lessons.

Based on my inspirations, I specialised in playing funk / blues (think of RHCP and James Brown) and finger picking (mainly used in folk and country). These two styles are reflected in my cover trio ‘Gent in the middle’.

During my studies at the conservatory in Enschede, I further developed my skills and broadened my taste in music. I studied recording techniques as well. My first contact with this was with the band Cloud Cukkoo. I followed the minor Musicproduction as an in-depth look. Today, I have the right facilities in my studio to practice this at a professional level and to capture these moments with you. As an extra option, wecan dive into this together, so that you can get started at home.
